Ms. Hiroo Mirchandani Independent Director

Hiroo Mirchandani serves as an Independent Director on the boards of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd, Nilkamal Ltd. and Roots Corporation Ltd - a subsidiary of IHCL .She has experience of nine diverse boards including Punjab National Bank, Polycab India Ltd, DFM Foods and Care (formerly Religare) Health Insurance. She chairs the Audit Committee of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd. and has played an effective role on Nomination & Remuneration, CSR, Stakeholders Relationship, Finance and other board committees.

Ms. Mirchandani brings P&L experience, consumer insights and financial acumen to her presence on boards. She taps into her board & operational knowledge to provide wise counsel and strategic inputs to management. She also facilitates cross-pollination of best corporate governance practices from her experience as an independent director and retail investor.

Prior to her career on boards, Hiroo has held management roles for over thirty years in P&L, Marketing and Sales primarily in Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors. She progressed from being a Branch Manager at Asian Paints to Business Unit Director and Executive Council member at Pfizer .She has also held leadership positions at Dabur and World Gold Council.

Ms. Mirchandani was Business Unit Director of the Consumer Health Business unit of Pfizer which consistently delivered its revenue and profit goals under her leadership. Hiroo transformed her division's business model by introducing 'Availability, Visibility and Recommendation' programs from FMCG marketing to pharma marketing for the first time. She was founder-member of the Pfizer Global Women's Council which led the company's gender diversity initiatives world-wide.

Hiroo was the India Marketing Director of World Gold Council, the international organization for advocacy of gold. She launched several innovative gold promotion programs with manufacturers, designers and jewelers including Tanishq to increase gold consumption. She opened up a new segment of trendy, lightweight branded jewellery targeted at Indian youth.

Hiroo was the first woman Branch Manager in the Paint Industry and amongst the few women field managers in the consumer goods sector in the 1980s.As Branch Manager at Asian Paints, she had responsibility of sales, collections and warehouse operations based in Rajkot, Gujarat. This gave her first-hand experience of consumers, influencers and trade in 'middle' and rural India.

At Dabur, she was Marketing Head of its Healthcare products division which repositioned several of its age-old brands like Dabur Chyawanprash, Dabur Honey, Hajmola, Pudin Hara to deliver 23% compounded average growth rate under her leadership.She successfully re-engineered the Advertising to Promotion spends to fund brand building with higher sales and profitability.

Ms. Mirchandani is a Chevening Gurukul Scholar from the London School of Economics, an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Faculty of Management Studies and a graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi.
