Our CSR

Introduction:

At Tata Teleservices Ltd. (TTL), CSR initiatives are focused on empowering communities through education and livelihood opportunities. Our initiatives and outreach activities are aligned to the Tata way of doing things for the community. What comes from the people goes back to the people many times over.

TTL's CSR activities are based on three broad indicators of development namely:

  • Human Capital
  • Social Capital
  • Economic Capital

Projects under these three core areas focus on education geared towards employability, employee volunteering and employment generation.

Human Capital:

This refers to the individual’s innate abilities, talents, knowledge, skills and experience that make them economically productive and applies to our employees as well as the communities we work with.

Education:

Sponsor education of young adults from underprivileged communities through the Foundation for Academic Excellence and Access (FAEA), the Delhi-based NGO which administers these programs.

Employment:

TTL has strategic tie-ups with NGOs like NIIT Foundation, Sarthak Educational Trust, Association of People with Disabilities, Blind Relief Association, Delhi, National Association for the Blind etc who provide vocational training to candidates from underpriviledged communities and people with disabilities.TTL shortlists candidates from these NGOs who are inducted through an in-house training program supported by Retail, Training and HR departments of TTL and placed in different departments within the organisation.

Volunteering:

Volunteering initiatives of the Company is spearheaded by the ‘Prakriti Club’ – the volunteering arm of the Company. NGOs, qualified through a rigorous screening process, along with the volunteers’ support focus on skill development initiatives for people with disabilities and youth from socioeconomically weaker sections of the society. Employees are encouraged to share their time and skill in enhancing the employment opportunities of the students working with our partnered NGO’s. The volunteers also support schools in multiple locations for delivering educational programs on identified subjects. In addition, volunteers engage actively in Tata Group Volunteering Programs – Tata Volunteering Week and Pro-engage (Short term focused projects with NGO’s) which brings together employee volunteers from across the Group companies to collaborate and contribute to various CSR initiatives.

Social Capital:

This indicator focuses on creating social wealth for the communities that we partner with.

  • Healthcare: Our efforts are aimed at ensuring good health and well being of the employees and the communities we operate in.
  • Empowerment: TTL uses its core competence to disseminate need based information to communities that empowers them to take initiatives and decisions to solve problems and improve their well being.
  • Community Development: TTL in its role as a facilitator works in partnership with like-minded NGOs/ CBOs to meet identified needs of the community.

Economic Capital:

There is a huge focus on creation of livelihood opportunities for the people which is directly related to the economic development of the country. TTL undertakes initiatives and projects which are geared towards livelihood creation, employability and entrepreneurship to empower communities.
