Tata Volunteering Week 5, March 2015 - Hyderabad

ZPHS Girls high school, Thukkuguda

The volunteering team from Gyanpeeth office conducted elocution and mentoring session along with a computer awareness class. Swami Vivekananda motivational books were also distributed to girl students. The event was interactive and thoroughly enjoyed by the children.

As requested by the students, in the subsequent engagement, a session was organized on the importance of fitness and coping with stress along with a meditation session. The students and teachers termed it as a very rejuvenating and relaxing session.


Tata Volunteering Week 4, March, 2015 – Chennai, Delhi and Noida

NIIT Foundation

NIIT Foundation works in the areas of education, vocational skill building and improving employability at the grassroot level for youth from the economically and socially weaker sections of society. They have built sustainable training intervention models and strive to provide employment for the students completing certifications from their centers. Volunteers from Tata Teleservices conducted multiple sessions on Interview skills, Communication skills and Retail and Call Center training for the students in Chennai, Delhi and Noida centers. The volunteers gave an industry and corporate organisation perspective to the students and an understanding of the expectations of corporate organisations from their employees. Emphasis was laid on the importance of education, self confidence and time management.


Tata Volunteering Week 4, March, 2015 – Hyderabad

Sumangali Seva Ashram

Sumangali Seva Ashrama runs a school where it educates nearly 350 children. Of these 350 students, 100 students are residential girl students who are provided free education. The volunteering team organized numerous games for the resident girl students along with a session on child abuse and safety. These children are orphans who are taken care of by the teachers and staff of Sumangali Ashram. The volunteering team along with the contribution made by the employees of Bangalore office also sponsored two pairs of school uniforms and education material for the children.
